We collect personal information to serve your family well: to respond to your inquiries, help you find and enroll at a school, and focus on the programs and information most relevant to you.

Online: personal contact information you provide (name, telephone number, email address); information entered into web forms, such as tour requests and enrollment inquiries; information about activity on our website; anonymous, aggregate statistics about site use; and information collected through cookies and log files (IP address, browser type, internet service provider, platform, date/time stamp, pages visited). If you access the site on a mobile device, additional device information may be collected as described in this policy.

Offline: information you provide when you visit, tour, inquire at, or enroll at one of our schools, including contact information, emergency contact and release information, and your child’s information needed for their care, such as care needs, allergies, medications, medical care provider, and immunization history.

03

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to: tailor programs to your child’s growth and development; provide a safe, healthy environment for the children in our care; communicate with you and respond to your inquiries; comply with licensing regulations and other legal requirements; operate and improve our website; and ensure advertising is appropriately targeted. If you provide your phone number when contacting us, we (or our schools) may call or text you about your inquiry; you can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP.

04

Disclosure of Information

We do not sell or rent your contact information to marketers. We may share personal information: with your consent; with our affiliated companies and schools; with service providers who support our operations (such as our enrollment and communication systems and payment processors); with child care regulators, medical providers, and financial institutions for legitimate business purposes; when required by law or to comply with a legal obligation; and, in the event of a business transition such as a merger or acquisition, as part of the transferred assets. Aggregated, non-identifying information may be used and shared to improve our services.

05

Data Retention

We retain personal and non-personal information as long as we believe necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, and no longer than applicable law permits.

06

Your Rights

We work to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date. You may access and correct the personal information you have provided, or request a copy of it, by contacting us at contact@otterlearning.com.

Depending on where you live, state law may give you rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request that it be corrected or deleted, or to opt out of certain uses. We honor such requests regardless of where you live: contact us at contact@otterlearning.com with your request, and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell your personal information.

07

Cookies & Tracking

Like most websites, we use cookies, log files, and similar technologies to understand how visitors use our site, measure the effectiveness of our communications and advertising, and make your experience more convenient. Cookies are small data files stored by your browser; they cannot read your hard drive or collect personal information on their own. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work. We also gather log information (IP address, browser, referring pages, date/time, clickstream) to analyze trends and administer the site, and our emails may use click-through links and pixel tags to measure interest so we send only messages that are useful.

08

Children's Information Online

Our websites are designed for parents and adults, not children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under thirteen (13). If we learn that we have collected personal information through the site from a child under 13, we will use reasonable efforts to stop using it and remove it from retrievable form. We recommend that parents monitor their children’s use of the internet. (Information about your child that you provide in connection with enrollment and care is covered in Section 2.)

09

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical precautions to safeguard personal information against loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Information collected through our site is encrypted in transit (look for “https” and the lock icon in your browser). No security measures can guarantee protection against every threat, and we encourage standard precautions such as strong passwords and a secure browser. Offline, access to your personal information is restricted to employees who need it to serve your family.
